今回は2020年のリストが2012年のものと比較したとき、どのアルバムが追加されたのかを書いていこうと思う。
公式には154枚と発表されているが、前回の記事にも書いたように2012年のリストからは163枚の追加されている。前回のリストから変更をすべて見ていきたい。

（青字のアルバムは2003年のリストにはあったが、2012年の改訂版で削除され、再びこのリストに上がった8枚のアルバムである。Brian WilsonのSmileはカウントすべきかあいまいなのでオレンジに。詳しくは前回の記事で。）
全体的に見てわかるのは、前回の記事にも書いたようアフリカ系アメリカ人のアーティストのアルバムが数多く追加されたことだろう。ヒップホップのアルバムや女性アーティストの作品も多く追加されている。ロックやカントリー系では2000年以降のものも多くランクインしている。
アフリカ系アーティストの作品、つまりR&B系のものは今回多くリストに追加された。Beyoncéが以前のリストには名前が挙がらなかったが、今回いきなり2枚(32位にLemonade、81位にBeyoncé)もランクインしている。Frank Oceanも同様に2枚(79位にBlonde、148位にchannel ORANGE)入っている。イギリスのバンド、Sadeの2枚のアルバム(200位の'84年発表のDiamond Lifeと247位の’92年のLove Deluxe)はどちらも、1回目のリスト作成時の2003年以前に発表されているが、これまでリスト入りしてこなかった。Aretha Franklinは以前のリストにあった2枚のアルバム(I Never Loved a Man the Way I Love YouとLady Soul)に続き、さらに2枚(154位にAmazing Grace、388位にYoung, Gifted and Black)追加され4枚がランクインした。Bill Withersも新たに2枚(304位のJust As I Am、333位のStill Bill)ランクインさせている。D'Angeloは以前のリストにあったVoodooに加え、Brown Sugar(183位)とD'Angelo and the Vanguardの名義でリリースされたBlack Messiah(395位)の計3枚のアルバムがリスト入りした。これは彼が発表したスタジオアルバムは全てリストに入っていることとなる。
ヒップホップも多くのアルバムが新たに追加されたが、何よりもKendrick Lamarであろう。To Pimp a Butterflyは19位とかなり上位にランクイン。good kid, m.A.A.d cityは115位、DAMN.は175位と3枚ものアルバムをリストに送り込んでいる。彼は間違いなく2010年代を代表するアーティストである。さらに目立っているのがKanye West。以前のリストにあったThe College Dropout、Late Registration、My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasyの3枚に、Graduation(204位)、808s & Heartbreak(244位)、Yeezus(269位)の3枚を加え、驚異の6枚がリストに入っている。OutkastはSpeakerboxxx/The Love Below(290位)が新たに追加され、StankoniaとAqueminiと合わせ3枚のアルバムがランクインした。
Fiona AppleはWhen the Pawn...(108位)、Extraordinary Machine(444位)、The Idler Wheel... (213位)といきなり3枚のアルバムをランクインさせた。彼女が今年2020年に発表した最新のアルバム、Fetch the Bolt Cuttersも素晴らしい作品となっているらしい。（こちらは私は未聴である。次の改訂版がでたら入るかも・・・？）Joni MitchellもBlueとCourt and Sparkに加えThe Hissing of Summer Lawns(258位)、Hejira(133位)がリスト入りし、合計4枚の作品がランクイン。Blueは2012年のリストでは30位だったが、今回3位と大きく順位を上げた。
第62回グラミー賞を獲得したBillie EilishのWhen We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?(397位)も早速ランクイン。2019年から2020年はまさに彼女の年だっただろう。同賞にノミネートされていたLana Del ReyのNorman Fucking Rockwell!(321位)もリストには入っている。ちなみに2019年リリースのアルバムでリストにあるのは上記の2枚と、元ワン・ダイレクションのHarry Stylesが発表したFine Line(491位)である。
もっと1枚1枚ピックアップして見てみると面白いだろうが、ざっと見た感じこんなもんだろうか。
削除されたアルバムも書きたかったが、量が量なのでまた別の記事で書いていきたい。
